TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew on Friday thanked President-elect Donald Trump for a “commitment to work with us to find a solution that keeps TikTok available in the United States.”

“This is a strong stand for the First Amendment and against arbitrary censorship,” Chew added.

Trump is seeking to protect TikTok from a new law that gives parent company ByteDance until Sunday to sell the app to an American buyer or be banned in the U.S.
