Col. Mills to Newsmax: China Has ‘Decisive Ground’ Inside US Data Centers

Retired U.S. Army Col. John Mills told Newsmax on Saturday that the Chinese government has “decisive ground and terrain inside” U.S. telecom data centers.

On Friday a White House official added a ninth U.S. telecommunications company to the list of telecoms breached by the Chinese online-espionage group known as Salt Typhoon. Mills said that most Americans likely have a “digital twin” created by China via their hacked data collection efforts.

“With Salt Typhoon, 60 to 70% of the world’s cybertraffic passes through the data centers in Northern Virginia. Which, guess what? The U.S. government also uses. This means China has created a cyberredoubt inside these data centers, and we can’t figure out how to get them out. They have decisive ground and terrain inside these data centers,” Mills said during an appearance on “Saturday Agenda”
