Father McKeon to Newsmax: Cardinals Face Long Process to Elect New Pope

The Rev. Robert F. McKeon from the Archdiocese of New York, told Newsmax Tuesday that the cardinals of the Catholic Church have a potentially long process ahead to elect a new Pope.

McKeon told “National Report” that part of what is involved for cardinals to choose a successor to the late Pope Francis is that, first, many need to get to know each other.

“A number of the cardinals really don’t know each other well because they maybe don’t have that connection in Rome or in Europe. It’s very international now. And as a result, part of what’s going to happen naturally is they’re going to talk to each other, get to know each other,” said McKeon.
