Rep. Andy Harris, R-Md., told Newsmax on Friday that Congress needs to avoid the “confusion” of the last few weeks and quickly elect a House speaker so legislators can “hit the ground running” in January.

The House is set to vote next week on whether to reelect House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., or select a new person for the role.

Harris said on “Wake Up America” that the House Freedom Caucus wants “to make sure that the House is in a position to deliver on the Trump agenda to the American people. That’s all.”
