Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, who was sworn in Saturday, will be “mission-focused” and understands that the U.S. military has fallen behind China and other adversaries in recent years, Rep. Andy Biggs said on Newsmax Sunday. 

“Pete understands we need to be stepping it up on hypersonics,” the Arizona Republican told Newsmax’s “Sunday Agenda.” “We need to step it up on weaponized drones, cybersecurity, and cybertechnology.”

A handful of Republicans voted against Hegseth’s Senate confirmation, leading to Vice President J.D. Vance to cast the deciding vote for him, but Biggs said he does believe all of President Donald Trump’s nominees will be confirmed.
