Rep. Wesley Hunt, R-Texas told Newsmax on Wednesday that Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., will “put the American diplomatic agenda first” when he becomes the next Secretary of State.
Earlier in the day, Rubio said during his confirmation hearing that he would put America’s interests “above all else” and help implement President-elect Donald Trump’s agenda.
“Placing our core national interests above all else is not isolationism,” Rubio said in his opening statement adding, “It is the commonsense realization that a foreign policy centered on our national interest is not some outdated relic.” Hunt said Rubio is “impressive” and “fit for the job.”
